How We Admit Students
Rusumo High School admits students through a transparent and merit-based process managed by the Rwanda Education Board (REB) and the National Examination and School Placement (NESA) system.
Admission Sources
1. National Placement (NESA/REB)
Students are placed in Rusumo High School based on:
- National examination results
- Student preference and school ranking
- NESA placement algorithm
- Availability of spaces in each program
Note: This is the primary admission method for most students. The placement process is conducted by the Rwanda Education Board and NESA.
2. Transfer Students
Students may transfer to Rusumo High School based on:
- Approval from the Rwanda Education Board (REB)
- Availability of spaces in the requested program
- Academic eligibility
- Compliance with school policies
Process: Contact the administration office for transfer procedures and requirements. All transfers require REB authorization.
Key Principle
Programs Offered for O and A Levels
Ordinary Level (S1-S3): General curriculum with focus on foundational academics, character development, and exploration of interests.
Advanced Level (S4-S6): Specialized programs with the following streams available:
